I Remember My dad Had the CTB Diamond Encrusted Ring and the Chain and Emblem to match. he lived elvis " TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS" Lingo.. The Pictures Below are of The Ship That My dad was on during the Vietnam Era. its the U.S.S Saratogo The Ship was recently decactived and destroyed.   Below Are Pictures Of one of my dads Older suits. he Had much Nicer Suits then this, But it was the only one around when I went see him before he passed, So i took a few pics of it, its kinda stained but his other ones were in mint condition, He Took pride in what He Did.    |  from What I Recall:
My Dad Was A Family Man, He Had stong beliefs of Having babies out of wedlock and etc. Old school i guess.. He loved entertaining people. he was a great Entertainer. He Was always Happy, He was always smiling. Just a good dude, Give you the shirt off his back kind of dude. And was talented, He was very good at his elvis impersonations. In the 1990's he competed in a Elvis Impersonation contest in which their were a couple hundred impersonators. And he won the role of Elvis Aaron Hemphill In The Movie " The Firm ". He use to enjoy performing at St. Judes events as Charity.. He loved kids, He Loved his Family. He Loved Louisiana, He was Born And raised around the Bunkie and EverGreen Area in louisiana In Avoyelles Parish.. He use to love crawfishing, and Of course eating the crawfish , boiling them up, and etc. he was proud of his Cajun heritage Background. He was raised up Broke. His Dad died before he really had a chance to know him.. He did at some point like cars, i remember he had a old 63 cadillac with the wings on the back. LOL. It was crazy looking. and a big body 1977 one too.. He liked building things and repairing things. he was good at renovating houses. He believed in recycling, He was Just a Good dude. Sometimes People would Laugh about his Elvis Impersonations in a mean type of manner, and He would just laugh and say. You know what son, Thats Alright. Im laughing all the way to the bank!.. and just laugh it off.. nothing could get him discouraged. Even in his dying bed, he still cracked jokes and smiled.. It was sad.. He was 58 years old when he Fell Victim to Colon Cancer in North carolina. He went to the veterans Hospital numerous times out there. I dont get why they didnt suggest having a cancer screening of some sort,. but they Never did.. A Local hospital in Mt. Airy did though. And he was diagnosed with Colon cancer. A week later he had a Pet Scan done. They said all of his insides were ate up with cancer, They gave him 2-4 weeks to lives. he would die 3 weeks later. But, As for stories of my fathers Past. I could go On And On. Such As his travels with the immigration. he was A Federal immigration officer for decade or so. He Would Escort illegal Aliens back to their countries, bring home trinkets and etc. he was also involved in the riot at the oakdale prison years ago. He brought home home made weapons the prisoners made. one was a machette that was carved out of a lawnmower blade.. It was a Pretty Bad ass riot. but yeah. dad Has been everywhere. Seen everything, He was also in the United states NAVY in the VIETNAM ERA. he was a Signal Man Aboard the U.S.S SaraToga .. He had stories of that too. he talked about the navy days in his final movie that my brother took of him.. but anyhow. I can keep going, but the Point is this. he was a good Man. We will all miss him, And I know he went To heaven. he was a Christian to the Fullest.. We love you and we miss you dad!.. C U WHEN WE GET THERE!
